The GLO CAF Awards went down last night at the Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos.

The annual event which celebrates and honours African footballers and officials who have distinguished themselves during the year, was hosted by Joselyn Dumas and Robert Marawa.

In attendance at the sports awards were Funke Akindele, Juliet Ibrahim, Basketmouth, Bovi, Psquare, Lynxxx, 2Face Idibia, Waje, Omawumi and many more!

Back stage:



Just before they hit the stage, super star Funke Akindele played referee with veteran artiste, Lagabja, while Diamond Platnumz honoured a fan with a photo. The Psquare brothers on the other hand, geared up to shut it down. They did.



Comedians Basketmouth and Bovi took a quick selfie just before Lagbaja left the back stage.

Award winners:

Nigeria’s Super Falcons and Rivers Angels player, Asisat Oshoala, was the female star of the night. Oshoala beat compatriot Desire Oparanozie and Cameroonian goalkeeper Annette Ngo Ndom to win the women’s top prize, ‘Female Player of Year’. She also won the African Youth Player of the Year.

As the queen of the night, she got to pose with Yaya Toure who at the event won the African Player of the Year award.

Father Mbaka Clarifies His Comments On Jonathan

REV FR. MBAKA ##Clarifies Comments## Following his widely publicised sermon on New Year’s Eve that tore President Goodluck Jonathan’s policies to pieces , Rev Father Ejike Mbaka has been recorded hitting the president hard again, and this time his wife, Dame Patience Jonathan, was not spared. Speaking in both the English and Igbo languages, Mbaka dismissed suggestions that he is a two-faced individual because he received the first lady in his ministry a few weeks before his controversial outburst. Recall that in November 2014, Mbaka welcomed the First Lady, Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu and others to his Enugu parish. He told ‘Mama Peace’, as the Firstly Lady is popularly called, that her husband had “done well” and deserved another tenure at the Aso Rock. Lagos State Corpers' Lodge Robbed

The Lagos Catholic corpers’ lodge has been robbed. According to Linda Ikeji, the Corpers lodge which is located at Akowonjo area of Lagos was robbed in the early hours of today, Thursday, 22nd January, 2015 at about 1.03am. It was made known that the robbers made into the lodge through one of the corps members who was outside due to the heat. READ ALSO: PHOTO: Female Corper Sent Packing From Orientation Camp He was held at gun point and was asked to enter one of the rooms where they robbed them of their phones. An alarm was raised by a corps member, but the robbers shot in the air to scare people from attacking them and jumped the fence which is suspected to be the same way they came in.
